North Shore dealer dominates awards

Archibald and Shorter North Shore collects four of the 10 gongs handed out as Jaguar Land Rover New Zealand hosts its Retailer of the Year Awards.

Archibald & Shorter North Shore has been crowned the supreme retailer of the year and picked up three other gongs at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) New Zealand’s annual prizegiving ceremony.

Along with the event’s top prize for 2024, the Auckland dealership won the Land Rover retailer of the year, JLR service team and JLR business manager categories.

The honours recognise it “consistently delivering exceptional service experiences across all aspects of its operations” and comes despite the company facing adversity at the beginning of last year.

JLR NZ notes the Auckland floods in January 2023 caused damage and closure to Archibald & Shorter North Shore’s premises, but the retailer’s “resilience and commitment to excellence remained unwavering”.

Steve Kenchington, chief executive officer of JLR NZ, adds: “Our retail partners have shown remarkable resilience and determination, navigating through a challenging year in 2023.

“Despite facing strong headwinds, the Archibald & Shorter North Shore team have demonstrated exceptional success. Their remarkable achievements are truly inspiring.”

Vernon Brown, dealer principal at the winning business, notes his team has worked hard over the past year and collecting four awards is a testament to the dedication of staff.

“It’s a fantastic way to acknowledge our team's efforts and provides us with added motivation for the year ahead,” he continues.

JLR NZ hosted its annual Retailer of the Year Awards at Toitoi, Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre, this month to showcase the success of its retail network and extend its support for the Hawke’s Bay community.

The company provided vehicles to the region in partnership with the Red Cross to help isolated residents needing essential supplies after Cyclone Gabrielle struck in February last year.

Other winners for 2024 included Ebbett Prestige Tauranga being named Jaguar retailer of the year and clinching the parts team section, while Archibalds Christchurch took out the new car sales team award.

Archibald & Shorter Greenlane, Armstrong’s Wellington and Prestige Collision Repair were also rewarded for their achievements throughout the last financial year.
